Alba CFO among top 50 ME finance professionals

MANAMA, May 8, 2016

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading international aluminium smelter, said that its chief financial officer (CFO) Ali Al Baqali has been named on the top 50 list of the “Who’s Who in Middle Eastern Finance 2016” by the Global Finance magazine.

This is a top honour for Al Baqali who is amongst the five CFOs in Bahrain featured on this list, said a statement from the company.

The “Who’s Who in Middle Eastern Finance” is an exclusive annual resource that recognises the 50 most influential, creative, and powerful people in the Middle Eastern business and financial communities, it said.

Al Baqali was appointed as Alba’s CFO in June 2013. He holds an MBA from the French Arabian Business School/ESSEC, is a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), UK and a board member of Tenmou, The First Bahraini Business Angels Company, it added.

Alba’s chief executive officer Tim Murray said: “It is a moment of pride for us that Ali has been recognised as a one of the leaders in the region’s financial list.”

“Al Baqali is a highly experienced finance executive and his experience in the company spans over two decades; his rise to the ranks is a great example of our philosophy to promote from within,” he said.
