Siemens aims to develop business activities in Iran

TEHRAN, May 22, 2016

Siemens, a global technology leader, aims to develop its business activities in Iran, mainly in the fields of energy (oil and gas), transportation and health, according to a senior Siemens official.

Iran has the potential to join the top league of global economic powers given its highly qualified people and huge reserves in natural resources, Siegfried Russwurm, a member of Siemens’ board and director for the Middle East and CIS operations, was quoted as saying in an Iran Daily report.

He said that one of Iran's greatest advantages is its ambitious and well-educated population.

He noted that Iran has all the necessary ingredients to play an important role in the international community and global trade.

Russwurm stressed that Iranian companies are striving to be competitive on the world market.

He reaffirmed his company's interest in engaging in 'a real and long-lasting partnerships' with Iranian firms, saying Iranian companies stand to benefit from Siemens innovations and technological know-how, added the report.
