Alba organises SHE workshops for Alupco

MANAMA, June 8, 2016

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading international aluminium smelter, is conducting a series of safety, health and environment (SHE) workshops for one of its established clients – Saudi Arabia’s Aluminium Products Company (Alupco).

The workshops are an initiative by the company’s marketing department to enhance the existing business relation with Alupco by providing extra value, in addition to the technical support given by Alba.

The workshops are being held with the aim to assist Alupco to augment its health, safety and environment culture, and is being organised in conjunction with Alba’s SHE department.

The teams from both companies have mutually agreed on a training plan in order to meet Alupco’s health and safety expectations at the workplace and cover topics such as permit to work and risk assessment, industrial hygiene, firefighting practices as well as environment protection.

The first in the series of workshops to be conducted by Alba’s team was a safety training workshop titled ‘Incident Investigation Course’, which was well appreciated by the Alupco’s management. The company also agreed that the training plan would be implemented at its plant in Jeddah.

Alba's chief marketing officer Khalid A Latif, said: “Safety is a limitless journey. We believe that safety should encompass everyone, and by extending our safety knowledge to our clients, we can spread the culture of safety to our customers and beyond.”
