Siemens to showcase offshore wind technology at UK event

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, June 15, 2016

Global engineering firm Siemens will be showcasing its cost-efficient offshore wind technology at the Global Offshore Wind 2016 (GOW), slated to be held in Manchester, England later this month.

As further steps in cost reduction are crucial to enable a sustainable, successful offshore wind industry, the company will showcase new technologies in wind turbines, grid connection, and operations and services such as its enhanced portfolio of services for offshore wind power plants with focus on digital services and logistics concepts.

The exhibition takes place from June 21 to 22 at the Manchester Central Convention Complex.

Michael Hannibal, CEO of Offshore Wind Power at the Siemens Wind Power and Renewables Division, will be one of the presenters at the Siemens press briefing on June 22. He will outline the company’s cost-out targets after 2020 and will also participate at the Business Leaders Debate on the same day. The debate will focus on the next steps for growth of the global offshore wind industry.

“Since reducing costs remains at the top of the agenda for the offshore wind industry, Siemens is developing comprehensive, new technologies and services,” said Hannibal. “Our customers benefit from digital and connected processes, services and components that allow offshore wind power plants to excellently meet today’s demands. At the same time, we ensure that offshore wind will also be a profitable asset in the future.” –TradeArabia News Service
