Tabriz Petrochemical Co to develop downstream industries

TEHRAN, June 28, 2016

An exclusive opportunity has been created at Iran’s Tabriz Petrochemical Company to develop downstream industries in East Azarbaijan Province with the production of various products, said a senior oil industry official.

Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister for Petrochemical Industry Marzieh Shahdaei made the remarks in a meeting with the head and senior directors of the Tabriz-based company, reported Irna.

Shahdaei said that the production of 11 types of products with more than 20 grades of petrochemicals in the complex may lead to developing supplementary industries in the province.

She said that Tabriz Petrochemical Company has proper industrial infrastructure and qualified manpower to play a role in the completion of value chain.

She called for cooperation between Tabriz Refinery Complex and Tabriz Petrochemical Company.

Shahdaei, who is the managing director of National Petrochemical Company, said that petrochemical products serve as the backbone of non-oil exports.

Managing director of Tabriz Petrochemical Company Javad Soleimani said that the company supplied 368,000 tonnes of petrochemicals last year to domestic and foreign markets and planned a 17-per cent growth in output to reach 384,000 tonnes.

Soleimani added that the demand for petrochemicals in the world market, particularly in European countries, exceeds his company's output capacity by more than three times.

He said that in addition to Central Asian countries as well as Southeast Asia, African, Arabian, Caucasus states and countries such as Italy, Spain, Britain, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic, India, China, Greece and Turkey are customers of Tabriz Petrochemical polymer products. --TradeArabia News Service
