Aramex to provide logistics services to NewBridge Pharmaceuticals

DUBAI, August 23, 2016

Aramex has said that it will provide a range of logistics services for Dubai-based NewBridge Pharmaceuticals, a privately held specialty pharmaceutical company.

NewBridge pharmaceuticals is a regional specialty company providing a one-stop-solution to pharmaceuticals, biological, genomics and other innovative healthcare companies.

As part of this collaboration, Aramex will provide services for NewBridge in the Middle East, Africa, Canada and the UK, said a statement from the company.

The focus is on in-licensing and commercialising FDA and EMA/European approved innovative therapeutics and diagnostics that address unmet medical needs of diseases with high prevalence within the emerging markets of the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, it said.

Through the partnership, Aramex is managing the logistics of patient samples across any clinics and hospitals from the Middle East to the US for advanced clinical testing, it added.

Aramex is also providing temperature controlled storage and transportation of medication for NewBridge from various distribution hubs in the UK and Canada to healthcare facilities within the MEA, said a statement.

Furthermore, Aramex is providing NewBridge with customs clearance, secondary packaging, labelling, vaulting and guarded transport services as part of the partnership, it said.

Hussein Hachem, CEO of Aramex, said: “This collaboration is a testimony to our healthcare solutions which not only enable our healthcare customers to grow globally, but also provide access to quality healthcare service to citizens across our region.”

“By working closely with NewBridge we are able to further penetrate the healthcare market, take advantage of the increased demand for logistics services in the pharmaceutical industry and better support people who require medicine and other pharmaceutical needs to be delivered to them effectively and efficiently,” he said.

“Not only are we proud to be a part of improving peoples’ health in the region, but this partnership with NewBridge also attests to the quality and reliability of the logistics services that we provide,” he added.

Joe Henein, CEO of NewBridge Pharmaceuticals, said: “This partnership with Aramex gives us significant opportunities to expand our business proposition and take advantage of the increasing demand for our solutions across the MEA.”

“We are dedicated to addressing the medical needs of our customers and this partnership allows us to reach more businesses and patients who rely on our full range of pharmaceutical services. Aramex also has a well-recognised brand, stable business and a leadership position in the region, making them an ideal partner for us to extend our reach in the market,” he said.

“The credibility and quality of their services makes them the best-suited business partner for the services we provide. We remain committed to servicing the MEA and this partnership will allow us to serve more businesses and consumers who need critical medical attention in the region,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
