Experts introduce green solutions at Paper Arabia

DUBAI, December 17, 2016

Local, regional and international companies introduced several new eco-friendly solutions at the ninth edition of Paper Arabia 2016, the international exhibition for paper, tissue and converting industry, held recently in Dubai, UAE.

A first-of-its-kind industry expo, Paper Arabia 2016, focused on corrugated and carton industry, highly demanded in so many regional markets in the mean time.

Organised by Al Fajer Information and Services, the exhibition attracted thousands of trade visitors over three days.

It also underscored the importance of adopting greener and smarter solutions to allow the use of sustainable paper and environmental friendly packaging.

Paper Arabia 2016 witnessed industry experts presenting the latest paper conversion solutions and latest related technologies besides introducing new machineries and manufacturing equipments from across the globe, said the organisers.

The three-day event offered an ideal opportunity to meet pioneers in the field of paper and tissues as well as discuss latest trends, technologies and applications in the paper industry.

“International companies from Europe, Canada and Morocco, along with Saudi Paper Group from Saudi Arabia and Fine Hygienic Paper FZE, UAE have participated in 9th Paper Arabia,” remarked Satish Khanna, the general manager, Al Fajer Information and Services, the show’s organisers.

According to him, the newsprint represents now less than 10 per cent of the consumption of the overall general commodity paper in the UAE compared to over 12 per cent in 2014 thanks to the digital and social media boom still going on in the UAE and wider region.

“Newsprint paper includes newspapers and magazines whereas general commodity paper includes office paper, notebooks, business cards, books, wedding cards, greeting cards and corporate and marketing collateral,” noted Khanna.

Lamyae Zafati, the exhibition manager, said several local, regional and international companies introduced new eco-friendly solutions at the expo in light of the rapid growth of paper, fabric and converting sectors in Middle East and North Africa (Mena).

"Paper Arabia discussed the potential and growth of the papers, tissues and manufacturing sectors in the Middle East," stated Zafati.

"The exhibition has attracted many international companies in the field of paper, tissue and paper production along companies specialised in the production and manufacturing of industrial machines and equipment related to paper sector," she added.-TradeArabia News Service
