Senaat backs Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival

ABU DHABI, December 27, 2016

Senaat, a leading industrial investment holding company in the UAE, recently participated as a Gold Sponsor of the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, for the third consecutive year.

The festival, one of the largest cultural demonstrations to take place in the UAE, is named after the UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The annual festival celebrates Sheikh Zayed’s pivotal role in preserving the UAE’s heritage and history, and developing the nation as a modern gateway to the future. It was also graced by the visit of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques amongst many other dignitaries and guests.

This year's festival focused on the UAE as a crossroads of civilisations and was held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

Eng Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, CEO of Senaat, said: “The late Sheikh Zayed wanted to develop a modern nation that stays true to its culture and traditions.”

“Today, the UAE is a true reflection of his vision. The UAE is a crossroad of all civilisations, attracting world-class businesses and institutions as well as talent. It is also a nurturing hub for different industries, not just those related to oil and gas,” he said.

“Our company is an example of what the UAE is today. We are very proud of our national heritage and through our portfolio company, Al Foah, we have preserved an important part of this heritage,” he added.

“We have also been able to introduce and grow new industries through our other eight portfolio companies that operate in metals, oil and gas services, construction and building materials and food and beverages manufacturing,” stated Al Dhaheri.

“Our support of the festival represents much more than our patronage of an event; it represents our commitment to preserving the rich heritage of our emirate and our country. As a leading UAE industrial company committed to championing the UAE’s diversification efforts, we are proud to be part of this event as we contribute to Abu Dhabi’s efforts to build a modern and diversified society for our people,” he concluded.

The 7th edition of the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, showcased Emirati culture through a variety of memorial wings, traditional customs exhibitions and a village market.

It also had a heritage village, folkloric performances, a traditional souk and an Emirati handicrafts exhibition. The festival offered a wide range of events that embody the UAE's great legacy and that of the Gulf and the Arab world, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
