Top experts to participate at roads event in Dubai

DUBAI, July 11, 2017

A number of specialists and experts from around the globe will take part in the inaugural International Road Federation (IRF) Middle East and North Africa (Mena) Regional Congress and Exhibition, to be held later this year in Dubai, UAE.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai will be hosting the inaugural event on October 29 and 31, reported state news agency Wam.

The participants will share expertise and engage in discussions about future concepts of traffic and roads, according to the organisers, adding that congress will see the presentation of 100 papers, host 200 speakers and hold 50 sessions, it said.

Maitha bin Adai, chief executive officer of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency announced the start of registration of all participants interested in the congress via the website.

The three-day congress will be held under the theme: Mobility Solutions for the 21st Century. It will hold 50 sessions through which specialists and experts will present more than 100 papers.

A variety of fields relating to innovation in smart cities, road safety designs, smart transit systems, pavements and asset management, partnerships and finance, and issues of relevance to the environment and sustainability will be discussed.

The congress will attract as many as 200 prominent speakers from 50 countries, which include transport ministers, CEOs, specialists, experts, manufacturers, developers, legislators, decision makers, firms and establishments, and concerned business leaders.

More than 70 exhibitors will be exhibiting products over an area spanning 3,000 sq m, added the report.
