Canon Middle East launches LCOS projector

DUBAI, July 23, 2017

Canon Middle East, world leader in imaging solutions, has launched the Xeed WUX500ST – a compact, efficient and versatile liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) projector.

Featuring 5,000 lumens colour brightness, built-in HDBaseT and a 75 per cent vertical lens shift, it’s an exceptional short throw projector for installations, said a statement from the company.

With 5,000 lumens colour brightness and a 2,000:1 native contrast ratio, the projector provides a striking level of performance. Fine lines are rendered with impressive accuracy across the entire screen, thanks to the projector’s native 1920 x 1200 WUXGA-resolution and Full HD capabilities, it said.

Encompassing the fifth generation of Canon’s cutting-edge Aspectual Illumination System (AISYS), the projector harnesses advanced light-splitting technology in order to project vibrant images, it added.

A model of the Xeed WUX500ST is also available for medical professionals, which includes a special Dicom Simulation Mode for displaying monochrome digital X-rays, CAT scans, and MRIs with superb grayscale gradation1.

The impressive combination of features makes the XEED WUX500ST ideal for a wide range of sectors including higher education, museums and galleries, corporate, simulation and training, and digital signage.

Its class-leading lens shift offers up to 75 per cent vertical and 10 per cent horizontal potential offsets delivering outstanding flexibility for installation, whilst the ability to deliver a 100-inch display from as close as 1.2 metres provides a huge level of convenience. Regardless of where it’s positioned in relation to the screen, the projector will still perform, even in the most demanding environments.

As one of the most compact short throw projectors available in the market, the Xeed WUX500ST can fit into the tightest of spaces and comes packed with a range of advanced functionality including PC-less multi-projection.

Simply connect a USB device to one projector and display a blended single picture with up to nine projectors connected via LAN cables. To ensure even greater precision and a quick and simple set-up, individual corner keystone correction is possible on the blended section of the images.

Connecting to the Xeed WUX500ST is a straightforward process, thanks to its wide range of input options. Built-in HDBaseT provides high-quality audio and image signals as well as control delivered via a single Cat6 cable of up to 100 metres. Wireless presentations from a PC are enabled via Wi-Fi connectivity, while innovative Networked Multi-Projection (NMPJ) software allows as many as 10 devices to connect simultaneously.

The projector is incredibly power efficient and offers a low total cost of ownership, said a statement.

Canon’s AISYS technology ensures maximum performance from the modestly powered light source that runs on just 395 watts. This best-in-class efficiency is accompanied by the dedicated ECO button, which supports users in controlling power management, while a 5,000-hour lamp life2 drives running costs even lower. To provide peace of mind for users, the Xeed WUX500ST includes a three-year lamp replacement warranty and a next day loan service3, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
