Top experts to discuss manufacturing, trade trends

DUBAI, October 11, 2017

Over 40 international and regional experts will participate in The Future Manufacturing and Trade Summit, which will showcase the important trends in this field. The event will be held next month in Dubai, UAE.

The event, hosted by Dubai Exports, will take place on November 6 and 7, at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers.

Keeping in line with prevailing trends in the global manufacturing arena and the Dubai Industrial Strategy 2030, manufacturers in the region will have an opportunity to leverage the strategy in order to pursue long-term smart sustainability, innovation, and access to international markets, said a statement.

The two-day event will witness the experts addressing an audience of over 500 manufacturers from the region, it said.

Day 1 of the summit will begin with Dr Abdulaziz Istaitieh, senior economic advisor, policy and strategy – Socioeconomic Development Department, The Executive Council of Dubai presenting on Dubai Industrial Strategy 2030 and how it is boosting economic competitiveness.

Richard Allbert, product owner, smart manufacturing, Pirelli, Italy will speak on the topic smarter and more competitive approach to manufacturing, while Amit Kumar Srivastava, general manager and regional head for APAC and Middle East, Bosch along with Mustafa Ayhan, IoT/Industry 4.0 coordinator, Bosch will deliver a joint presentation on connected factories in emerging markets.

The topic on the factories of the future will be presented by Nikhil Padhi, from SunPower, a major Solar PV manufacturer, customer of Lighthouse Systems, Gold Sponsor of the event.

He will present on the benefits of smart manufacturing, combining a high degree of plant automation with the Lighthouse software.

Padhi said: “Being a firm believer in the principle that technology should empower organisations, I really look forward to presenting the SunPower journey to smart manufacturing, and the role Lighthouse Systems MES played in that journey.”

The summit will witness participation from some of the most prominent organizations, including Khalifa Port Free Trade Zone, Dassault Systemes, ABB, Schneider Electric, Bosch, Rockwell Automation, Lighthouse Systems and Kawasaki Robotics, to name a few.

Across two days, the summit will cover an array of topics ranging from Industry 4.0 to intelligent manufacturing, from industrial robots to supply chain excellence, from mobility in manufacturing to industrial security, along with other trends and challenges faced by UAE’s manufacturing sector, said a statement.

Brad Hariharan, regional director, Expotrade Middle East, said: “The manufacturing sector continues to grow while adapting to the technological innovations and advanced economies that envelop us in the 21st century.”
