Bahrain Pack unveils big expansion plans

MANAMA, February 7, 2018

Bahrain Pack (United Paper Industries), a specialist in producing a range of innovative customised packaging solutions for the GCC market, is looking at expanding its business by launching new packaging formats as well as tapping new markets in the GCC.

“We are currently studying the options of entering new sectors such as flexibile packaging in line with the growing market demands,” said Hamed Faleh Al Abdulla, the company general manager on the sidelines of the Gulf Industry Fair 2018.

Based in Bahrain, United Paper Industries is a company with extensive exports around the GCC region. “Around 40 to 45 per cent of our total production is exported to the GCC countries,” stated Al Abdulla.

The company has pumped in BD1 million ($2.65 million) for refurbishing its facility with new machinery and is now looking at investing in the neighbouring countries as part of its expansion plan.

“We have expanded three-fold in the last 15 years and are aiming to increase our capacity by 25 per cent in the short term,” he said.

Set up in 1993, Bahrain Pack has since its founding built a reputation for customising packaging solutions for customer needs. Its manufacturing facility located in Sitra Industrial Area is well-equipped to manufacture all types of printed and non-printed corrugated cartons.

In addition to its Sitra facility, Bahrain Pack has a second facility in Jordan. The unit which is run through its subsidiary company produces items from its vast range of corrugated cartons.

The company is back at the Gulf Industry Fair this year to introduce its full range of customised packaging solutions and services designed to meet the requirements of industrial manufacturers and service providers.

“Bahrain Pack is celebrating its 25th year in 2018. Our first 25 years of business have been successful in achieving 80 per cent share of the market in Bahrain, apart from high-value clients in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and in Jordan," said Al Abdulla.

"We are quite excited as we look to the next 25 years in the development of Bahrain Pack," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
