Simco plans expansion into Oman, Kuwait

The UAE-based Simco Industrial Machinery, a leading aluminium, woodworking and steel machinery importer, exporter and supplier, will expand its operations into Oman and Kuwait as part of its Gulf-wide expansion.

Raed Zuhier Damrah, manager of wood division of Simco Industrial Machines, said: “We currently operate three branches in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iraq and we are planning to expand in coming years by opening branches in Oman and Kuwait.”

“The manufacturing sector is aggressively booming year after year. We have seen massive growth in our industry and by year 2020 we have great expectations from this market. The advantage of our company is that we are financially strong enough to undergo any face growth,” he added.
 
Simco will unveil new technologies and high-performance machineries that will boost industrial output in the UAE and GCC – at the Dubai WoodShow 2018 that takes place from March 12 to 14, in conjunction with Dubai International Furniture Accessories, Components and Semi-Finished Products Show (DIFAC) 2018 at Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai, UAE.
 
Participation in international industry events – such as Dubai WoodShow – is part of company’s expansion plans to go global. Simco is considered a pioneer in UAE’s aluminium, woodworking, sheet metal, steel fabrication machinery market with major projects under its belt. Business success is due to the company’s in-depth knowledge and track-record of handling complex projects.
 
Zuhier said: “During Dubai WoodShow, we are exhibiting all our latest machineries which are useful for the industrial growth with latest innovations and upgradations.”

“The intention for this participation is to accept the challenges of our customer’s demand and to provide them the solution to their demand being as a consultant and machine supplier,” he added.
 
“We are a multinational company and our core business is industrial machine trading import and export throughout GCC, Mena region, Asia and Africa continents. We generally import the machines from various countries from our suppliers and we do the marketing for their products and find potential customers to sell it locally and internationally. Being a giant company, we have our own maintenance team to take care of our customers as after sales services,” he concluded.
 
Increased crude oil price that is touching $70 a barrel, will help the GCC economy that in turn will also help the Dh7.7 billion ($2.096 billion) woodworking machinery market in Europe, Middle East and African countries and Simco’s new machine tools will help boost the industry capacity to meet growing demand.

According to new study conducted by Technavio Research, the global woodworking market to grow steadily at a CAGR of around 3 per cent by 2021. The key growth factor for this market is demand for engineered wood and wooden furniture. The industry experts say that this market is growing because the real estate developers and end-users are giving more importance to the aesthetic look of the buildings.
 
The huge range of products showcased at the Dubai WoodShow include wood products, woodworking machinery, blades and knives, tools, abrasives, industry solutions, and much more. The show, being highly specialised, provides the perfect opportunity for the regional and international companies to showcase and learn about wood and woodworking and to build new strategic relationships with buyers, traders and investors.
 
The Dubai WoodShow is one of the biggest events of the industry in the region and across the world. Last year’s edition is witnessing the largest participation, in terms of visitors, exhibitors and the exhibition space. In addition, the organisers anticipate more than 300 exhibitors from over 106 countries to visit the show.
