Alba launches mobike safety awareness drive

MANAMA, April 19, 2018

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), an international aluminium smelter, collaborated with Bahrain’s General Directorate of Traffic to promote the ‘Gulf Traffic Week’ by organising a Motorbike Safety awareness session in March at the Oasis Hall for its employees.

First Sergeant Abdul Hai Mohammed, Corporal Hisham Baljeek and public relations specialist Sameera Zainal from the General Directorate of Traffic too part in the awareness campaign.

The session included many useful tips and techniques on riding motorbikes safely as well as on general road safety and Bahrain’s traffic offences’ point system, said a statement from the company.

Deputy CEO Ali Al Baqali said Alba was committed to promote employees’ safety at all times and help prevent accidents outside and inside the workplace.

"While motorcycling is popular, it unfortunately, also carries much higher risk of serious injury compared to cars. Our company has a huge number of employees who not only commute to work on motorbikes but also engage in this particular sport,” he stated.

“This session on safe motorcycling is our way to emphasise that safety is a state of mind and that each one of us is the key to his own safety,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
