Audi Middle East names new sales director

DUBAI, August 14, 2018

Global auto giant Audi has appointed Uwe Hermann, a regional industry veteran as the sales director for the Middle East region.

In his new role, he will lead the sales for the Audi brand across 11 countries, 12 importers and 24 dealer facilities in the GCC and Levant region, said a statement from Audi.

As an automotive professional with extensive international and multicultural experience, Hermann has worked in the Middle East for more than 16 years, it stated.

He joins the brand with the Four Rings from its sister company Porsche, where he was senior regional sales manager.

Operating from the AVME regional office in Dubai, Hermann will be responsible for driving the growth for the Audi brand in the Middle East. Key to this will be to focus on enhancing the customer experience through the long-term goals of digitalisation, sustainability and urbanisation throughout the dealer network.

"Audi Middle East has an exciting future ahead with a wealth of innovative new models arriving over the next few years," said an excited Hermann.

"My role as sales director will be to develop the business in close partnership with our dealer network and to focus on enhancing the customer experience," he stated.

The Audi Group, with its brands Audi, Ducati and Lamborghini, is one of the most successful manufacturers of automobiles and motorcycles in the premium segment.

It is present in more than 100 markets worldwide and produces at 16 locations in 12 countries. The wholly-owned subsidiaries of Audi AG include Audi Sport (Neckarsulm), Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. (Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy) and Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. (Bologna, Italy).

Last year, the Audi Group delivered about 1.878 million automobiles of the Audi brand to the customers besides 3,815 sports cars of the Lamborghini brand and 55,900 motorcycles of the Ducati brand. In the 2017 fiscal year, the group netted a total revenue of €60.1 billion ($68.4 billion) and an operating profit of €5.1 billion ($5.8 billion).-TradeArabia News Service
