APM Terminals Bahrain joins ‘Go Green’ initiative

For the fifth consecutive year, APM Terminals, the operator of Bahrain's Khalifa bin Salman Port (KBSP), has joined forces with international port operators to participate in the global initiative ‘Go Green’. 
 
The annual campaign organised to promote environmental awareness amongst the APM Terminals Bahrain employees and its various stakeholders, featured a series of activities and workshops. 
 
Eliminating single-use plastic waste is one of the focus areas for APM Terminals Bahrain going forward for which it introduced a new campaign and took the first step of conducting a mass clean-up and collecting around 350 kg of plastic waste around the port area. The company also engaged in a tree planting activity using recycled water from air conditioners.
 
Amongst the workshops, it included a session on the importance of preserving environmental resources by APM Terminals Bahrain CEO Susan Hunter followed by a session on “Save Energy, Save Generations”, which was hosted by the technical and operations teams for the employees. 
 
The ‘Go Green’ initiative also witnessed participation from Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT), Ports and Maritime Affairs (PMA), Supreme Council for Environment and other government entities. - TradeArabia News Service
