Leading firms partner with GMIS to advance prosperity

PITTSBURG, September 26, 2022

The Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) has partnered with leading organisations from across the UAE and US to advance its mission of driving inclusive and sustainable industrial development. 
 
UAE’s ICT Fund, Sanad – a wholly owned subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, Pittsburgh’s Elliott Group, Eithad Rail, UPMC, and Schneider Electric are amongst a list of partners that will help facilitate a global dialogue on the future of innovation, manufacturing, and advanced technology at the inaugural edition of GMIS America from September 28 to 30, 2022, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.
 
The partnerships will help foster cross-sector collaboration through exchanging knowledge and expertise to address global industrial challenges and explore new areas of growth to drive economic progress worldwide. Discussions at GMIS America will help raise the efficiency and competitiveness of the industrial sector and highlight how advanced technologies can support the growth of sustainable industrial practices, driving economic growth and global prosperity.
 
Elliott Group (Title Partner) is joined by fellow US organisations, Richard King Mellon Foundation, the (UPMC), UPMC Health Plans, Schneider Electric, University of Pittsburgh, West Virginia University, National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), and Catalyst Connection.
 
Unmissable opportunity

UAE organisations Sanad and ICT Fund are joined by Etihad Rail and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) in partnering with GMIS to facilitate cooperation between American and Emirati companies and reshape the future of the industrial sector.

Top delegation
A high-level UAE delegation is attending GMIS America to present the UAE’s ambitious industrial strategy to enable investment, innovation opportunities and collaboration between the USA and Emirati businesses. As co-chair of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS), the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology will showcase the UAE’s national industrial agenda (Operation 300Bn) and the Make It In The Emirates initiatives, highlighting the nation’s manufacturing opportunities, value propositions and priority sectors.
 
Commenting on the announcement, Namir Hourani, Managing Director of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit, said: “Industrial breakthroughs will not happen in silos but at the intersection of multiple disciplines. We are honoured that key organisations from across the UAE and the US have placed their trust in us, and have joined us on our mission to encourage the adoption of green manufacturing practices, particularly using renewable energy sources such as hydrogen and low-carbon technologies.

60 international speakers
Under the theme ‘Advancing Global Industrialisation and Net Zero’, GMIS America will convene more than 60 international speakers to drive sustainable manufacturing practices and the clean energy transition. It will connect influential leaders from government, business, and civil society to explore the future of manufacturing and how it fits into the global energy transition. 
 
Hosted by Thomas Wolf, the Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, GMIS America will host multiple activities over three days. The event will comprise high-profile sessions across several formats, including keynote addresses, panel discussions, and fireside chats, as well as a gala dinner, interactive workshops and working groups on September 28 and 29. 
 
On September 30, GMIS America will host exclusive site visits to advanced tech centers and industrial facilities throughout Pittsburgh to showcase the latest innovations and technology solutions available in the city and encourage cross-sectoral collaboration and partnership opportunities. 
 
Set to take place annually in the US, GMIS America is a roadshow by the world’s most high-profile manufacturing and advanced technology conference, the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS). Co-chaired by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, GMIS offers a voice and venue for global industry leaders to place manufacturing at the heart of economic regeneration and government policymaking and utilise technology as a tool for global cooperation and collaboration.-- TradeArabia News Service
