Bob Dylan wins Nobel Prize for Literature

STOCKHOLM, October 13, 2016

US singer Bob Dylan has been awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature, becoming the first songwriter to win the prestigious award.

The Swedish Academy, Nobel Prize committee said the 75-year-old rock legend was selected for the award "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition".

Dylan's songs include Blowin' in the Wind and The Times They are A-Changin'.
