Omnix eyes 50pc growth in CAD division

Dubai, May 24, 2008

Omnix International, a leading regional technology service provider and integrator in the Middle East, is eyeing a 50 per cent regional growth in the CAD division in 2008.

The company’s longstanding alliance with Autodesk, the world leader in 2D and 3D design software for the manufacturing, building, and media and entertainment markets, is expected to further strengthen its aims to leverage the growing demand for robust design applications.

In line with this, the companies have teamed up to highlight the immediate impact of the Autodesk 2009 software on the architecture industry at the recently concluded ‘Autodesk Experience Tour’ in Dubai, which witnessed a showcase of the new features and functionalities of the AutoCAD 2009, in addition to that of Revit Architecture 2009 solutions.

The AutoCAD 2009 is a portfolio of industry specific solutions for conceptual design, drafting and detailing, which are designed to improve the output of veteran users while allowing new users to become productive more quickly.

The latest software solutions feature a user-friendly interface that allows users of all levels to produce competitive design ideas and compelling presentations. AutoCAD 2009 software is certified for the 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows Vista operating systems, helping assure that the product meets Microsoft Windows Vista standards for compatibility, reliability and security.

Following its launch in mid-March, AutoCAD 2009 joins Autodesk‘s wide range of solutions, which are being utilised in the construction of prestigious projects in and around Middle East.

“Our 19 years of experience in CADD as a pioneer in implementing and distributing AutoCAD in the Middle East has made us a valuable partner for high profile clients within the region’s booming construction market,” said director, CAD Division, Omnix Dr Jayant M. Deshpande.

“We have successfully built a strong reputation among companies operating in the fields of architecture, engineering, geographical information systems and land development through our successful distribution of Autodesk products in the region, and with the launch of the updated versions of their solutions, we are confident of achieving our expectations for 2008.”

The latest AutoCAD 2009 is complemented by the 2009 Revit platform for BIM, which features improvements to each of the purpose-built solutions for architects and engineers. It keeps information coordinated, up-to-date and accessible in an integrated digital environment, giving project teams a clear overall vision of their designs and streamlining the decision-making process.

The new update to the 2009 Revit Platform includes Revit Architecture 2009, Revit Structure 2009 and Revit MEP 2009. Autodesk has also launched its 3D modelling technologies that feature an integrated analysis technology from Robobat, Intelisolve, and NavisWorks.

Autodesk's 2009 BIM solutions help architects, engineers and designers to make better design decisions earlier in their process, improve project collaboration and integration between the building design, civil engineering and construction disciplines.

The company will focus on implementation and promotion of Autodesk 2009 solutions in the field of Building Solutions Division (BSD) and Infrastructure Solutions Division (ISD) to new markets such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan.

Within the first half of the year, the company plans to conduct in-house weekly seminars, workshops and try-and-buy sessions, and executive briefings on Autodesk products. – TradeArabia News Service
