Toshiba Computer Systems Division has launched three new desktop replacements and a laptop under its revamped Tecra product range.
The products are aimed at mobile workers in small, medium and large sized businesses.
The 15.4” Tecra A10 and the Tecra S10 laptops are for people who wish to replace their office desktop with a durable and affordable mobile computing solution, said a company official.
The Tecra S10, featuring advanced Nvidia Graphics and a high resolution display, is designed for professionals who require a workstation type desktop replacement, while the Tecra A10 is an all-round business laptop, ideal for day to day office work.
'The 14” Tecra M10 is a laptop for professionals who travel more often and do not want to compromise between mobility and performance,' said Santosh Varghese, regional general manager for Toshiba Gulf‘s Computer Systems Division.
All new laptops combine robust durability and quality, high performance and cutting edge connectivity. The new range of laptops will be available in the third quarter of 2008.
“Productivity, total cost of ownership, quality and durability are key to any company to ensure their laptop investment is future proof,” Varghese explained.
“By combining the latest advances in mobile computing technologies, the new Tecra laptops respond to these business needs while delivering high and robust quality at a competitive price,” he added.
The latest additions to the Tecra range give users the freedom of choice in terms of the display size, CPU and graphic power; the laptops run on Intel® Centrino® 2 and will be available with Intel vPro technology, depending on configuration.
The new laptops can be upgraded with upto 8 GB of RAM and offer embedded mobile broadband interfaces such as HSPA supporting up to 7.2/2.0 Mbps. Toshiba offers a solid state drive (SSD) option on the series, allowing customers to choose a 64 or 128 GB memory for enhanced reliability, performance and lower power consumption.
Additionally, the new Tecra laptops feature an embedded 1.3 Mpx webcam, Wireless Log-on via Bluetooth, a new eSATA port for achieving faster performance on an external hard drive.
It also has a Sleep-and-Charge USB port, which enables users to charge their mobile devices, such as mobile phones, MP3 players and PDAs whether the computer is on, off, or in sleep or hibernation mode.
All new Tecra laptops feature Toshiba’s fourth-generation EasyGuard technology including improved shock protection, a spill resistant keyboard, smartcard reader and fingerprint reader.
In addition to these, the ConfigFree software is also available throughout the range, to provide hassle-free, location-based connectivity for wired and wireless networks.
The Tecra products will be available across the region from next month and will be in the range of $1200 to $2100.-TradeArabia News Service
