WinSoft responds to region's demand

Dubai, September 23, 2008

Multilingual software publisher WinSoft said it will highlight its dedicated Middle Eastern version product suite at the Gitex Technology Week, from October 19 to 23 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Winsoft, which will be located at stand C4-20 at the Gitex Technology Week, said it has experienced a 25 per cent year-on-year demand for Arabic language software.

The company plans to give visitors the opportunity to discover the latest Arabic language software offerings from leading publishers including FileMaker and Adobe Systems. It collaborates with leading global software publishers to adapt software products to suit the unique requirements of Middle Eastern users.

'WinSoft has been successfully producing Middle Eastern-enabled software for over 20 years. In recent years, we have seen a worldwide increase in demand for Arabic language software of around 25 to 30 per cent, not only in this region but in other countries as well,' Pierre Blangero, chairman and CEO, WinSoft, said.

“This growing demand is a result of an increased Arab expatriate population plus globalisation, increasing the number of global companies seeking to do business with and within the Middle East. Visitors to our stand at Gitex will have the opportunity to experience first hand WinSoft’s exciting and innovative solutions dedicated to Arabic speaking users.'

Among the products on show will be WinSoft’s Middle Eastern versions of the FileMaker Pro 9 product line and the US version of Bento, a smaller version of FileMaker Pro 9 with capabilities focused on personal use.

FileMaker Pro allows users to easily manage people, projects and assets. FileMaker Pro 9 Advanced is the developer’s most dramatic offering to date, boasting new features including live access to powerful SQL data sources without programming.

This new version also contains a Quick Start Screen to connect directly to the information you need every time you launch FileMaker Pro 9, conditional formatting to show a user’s preferred page layout and the ability to send a database via an email link.

WinSoft’s Arabic version of the FileMaker Pro 9 Advanced product suite allows users to take advantage of the advanced features of FileMaker 9 whilst entering and displaying text in the Arabic script.

Localised Arabic templates are supplemented by English and French templates and the mirror layout feature allows users to switch between English left to right and Arabic right to left geometry.

The WinSoft exhibition stand at Gitex will also feature demonstrations of the Middle Eastern versions of Adobe Systems’ product range, including the latest Adobe Acrobat 9 Middle Eastern version. This product delivers all the characteristics of the original version plus advanced features designed to easily handle Arabic text.

'Participating at Gitex is a major highlight of our annual calendar as it allows us to gather feedback from users regarding current product versions and user expectations for our new product versions. It also represents a great opportunity for us to meet potential new software partners,' Blangero added. - TradeArabia News Service
