Vignette to hold first Mideast Web convention

Dubai, April 25, 2009

US-based Vignette Corporation, a leading online interaction software provider, will hold the region’s first Web convention, which aims to discuss new Web technologies that will help companies optimise their online presence.

The first Middle East Web (MEW) Convention will be held on April 27 at the Madinat Jumeirah hotel in Dubai.

The event will see more than 100 delegates from the region come together to understand how enterprises can maintain a competitive advantage by using the most pioneering and innovative Web technologies available today that provide dynamic and compelling web experiences.

“Driving value from Web interactions is imperative to corporate profitability. Web 2.0 technologies are being increasingly adopted around the world and are changing the way businesses work,” said Yahya H Zeitouneh, general manager, Vignette Middle East.

“The MEW Convention 2009 has been shaped to bring into focus all the most modern web technologies available, whilst providing attendees networking opportunities with leading technology experts,” he added.

“We will look at how Middle East companies can take advantage of the opportunities and issues that this technical revolution will drive over the next three years.”

Rob Amor, vice president worldwide channels and alliances, Vignette Corporation added: 'I am very excited about our first Web convention in the Middle East. This region is extremely strategic for our company, and I am very excited about hearing our customers talk about how our solutions are driving business value.'

Vignette will showcase the latest web solutions and demonstrate how these technologies can help organisations manage their corporate on-line presence, engage their customers, provide value-added services, create new revenue streams and provide an engaging customer experience resulting in increased customer loyalty.

Results of a landmark report on web usage and trends in the Middle East across 12 countries as compared to Western Europe will be presented during the event by Chris Averill, one of the invited guest speakers and a distinguished thought leader in the Web 2.0 arena.

There will also be case studies presented by two valued Vignette customers in the Middle East – MBC and Saudi Airlines. The success stories will highlight the Web solutions they have implemented, how Vignette has helped them address their business needs and plans for the future of their Web technology.

The unique format of the event will help facilitate consultative meetings for the attending delegates with Web visionaries and technology experts from Vignette and its partners – Emirates Computers, ITWorx, Virtusa and Rackspace.

Emirates Computers, a key partner of Vignette, will be one of the exhibitors at the show and will showcase the Vignette Web Experience Platform, with a focus on Vignette Social Media, Vignette Recommendations and Vignette Media 7.0. – TradeArabia News Service
