Nokia to launch ‘Search for N’ hunt

Dubai, May 25, 2009

Nokia is set to launch the ‘Search for N’, a global online hunt spanning 13 countries for people to discover the first 97 Nokia N97 devices, the company's most advanced mobile device to date, before they hit the store shelves.

In the UAE, Nokia has nine of the flagship devices to be discovered by lucky fans via Dubai 92’s online portal. The only way to be the first owner of these devices is to crack clues that Dubai 92 will be providing on their “Search for N” section on www.dubai92.com, said a Nokia statement.

The ‘Search for N’ will run over a period of seven days starting tomorrow (May 26) in advance of the Nokia N97 going on sale in the UAE.  The clues will be released on the exact date and time across each country worldwide.

Five clues will be asked on the site that will relate to feature aspects of the new Nokia N97 and include clever cryptic clues that encourage consumers to explore content online.

Once contestants successfully answer all five clues, the race is then to get all the answers at once to www.dubai92.com.  Dubai 92 will then contact the first 9 successful entrants to hand them their brand new Nokia N97 mobile computers.

Only 97 people around the globe will have the chance to test drive Nokia’s most advanced multi-media, multi-sensory mobile device to date before anyone else, and join a ‘Search for N’ winners club which will span three continents.

The hotly anticipated Nokia N97, the most advanced mobile computer to date, comes to market in June.

With tilting 3.5” touch display, Qwerty keyboard and a fully customizable home screen, the Nokia N97 combines the best of the mobile phone and personal Internet to provide an ‘always open’ window to favourite websites, feeds and applications.

Fast web browsers combined with context-aware widgets, accessible directly via the home screen, mean that people can make the Internet truly their own by filtering information according to who they are, where they are and what their friends are doing.

Built-in sensors display smart content tailored to people’s individual likes and interests; be that one-touch access to their Facebook page, local weather updates or last minute discounted tickets for the nearby cinema.

The Nokia N97 will be the first Nseries device to feature a dedicated homescreen shortcut for the easy-to-use Ovi Store; a one-stop-shop for thousands of applications, games, videos, podcasts, productivity tools, web and location-based services, and much more.

Through ‘social location’ awareness the Ovi Store makes ‘smart’ content recommendations based on where you are, what you’re doing and who you hang out with, and will contain premium and free content from a range of global and local content providers and developers, including Facebook, MySpace, Paramount Pictures, Shazam and Qik.-TradeArabia News Service
