Samsung to launch ‘thin & light’ notebook
Dubai, October 15, 2009
Samsung Electronics, a market leader in consumer electronics and IT, will launch its first notebook in the ‘thin and light’ notebook segment with the X420 notebook at an upcoming consumer technology show in Dubai.
Gitex Shopper and Consumer Electronics Expo 2009 will take place from October 17 to 24 at Airport Expo.
The X420 will be Samsung’s first edition in the all new ultra-lightweight X-series.
Samsung also launched the N510 to come with Windows 7 and HD performance, offering state-of-the-art technology in a stylish design, a statement said.
"With the new Samsung X420 ultra-thin notebook and the entertaining N510 netbook, gone are the days when the consumer had to choose between style and performance,” said Madhav Narayan, general manger of the IT division at Samsung Gulf Electronics.
“Now you can have it all in one extremely stylish package at a price that is affordable for everyone,” he added.
“Consumers visiting Gitex Shopper will not only be able to see Windows 7, but take home a Samsung notebook or netbook running Windows 7.”
The X-series features Intel’s latest ultra-thin, dual-core mobile processor technology, and the longest battery life available in its class, with its 6-cell battery delivering up to 9 hours of computing power.
“The new Samsung X420 is a new move into the expanding market of extremely thin and light notebooks which combine the light design of netbooks with the function of full notebooks. This new range has great potential to consumers who refuse to choose between style and performance,” said Narayan.
