Tejari names MSC for eLeader award

Dubai, November 22, 2009

Tejari, the largest B2B online marketplace in the Middle East, has named Dubai-based Medical Supplies Company, leading suppliers of medical, laboratory, industrial, and analytical products, for its “eLeader Award.”

The award is in recognition of the company’s promotion of electronic trading process and the high amount of business it conducted through Tejari’s portal.

MSC, one of the major users of the electronic trading platform since 2007, participated in over 900 online tenders and auctions worth $4 million through Tejari in 2008. The company has switched approximately 43 per cent of its business to online transactions with the support of Tejari, said a copany statement.

Tejari’s highly advanced online gateway and the open-market trading facility it provides helped MSC rationalise its business, abolish considerable amount of paperwork and save up-to about 26.7 per cent from hidden costs and the regular expenses.

Shahab Azayez Al Awadhi, CEO of MSC, said, 'The portal’s services revolutionised our deal-making process, which were typically old styled involving lot of paper work and were time consuming.'

MSC’s biggest transactions through Tejari have been with Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Municipality and Centre of Ambulance Services, which were conducted between the second half of 2008 and first half of 2009. The leading distributors conduct three to five auctions or tenders through the portal every day.

Suhail Al Banna, CEO Tejari said: “We conducted a study to obtain real-life examples of positive trading experiences with other businesses registered on the Tejari portal and to co-promote our business partners’ activities. It is gratifying to note that our services impacted MSC’s business very positively.”-TradeArabia News Service
