Sybase eyes ME business intelligence market

Sybase Products Middle East said it has entered into a partnership with Information Builders, award-winning New York-based company to target the fast growing market for business intelligence in the Middle East.

Information Builders is a leading provider of business intelligence and enterprise integration software.

With a turnover of over $300 million in revenue, and more than 12,000 worldwide customers for over 30 years, this partnership will enable Sybase Products Middle East to provide radically innovative enterprise analytics and data warehousing software in the region and Turkey, said a company official.

Tony Achkar, general manager, Sybase Products Middle East, said the joint partnership of Sybase Products Middle East and Information Builders will target the fast growing market for business intelligence in the Middle East.

'This will bring into the region the renowned WebFOCUS, the world’s most widely used business intelligence platform that is designed to help enterprises make better and informed decisions, ensuring higher productivity during the current challenging market conditions,' Achkar noted.

“We are proud to announce our partnership with Information Builders for the Middle East and Turkey. This venture allows us to complete our offering for an Enterprise Data Warehouse solution and further enhance our ability to bringing information together so business users can access and understand it,” he added.

Data warehousing solutions, Achkar said, were critical for decision makers in sectors such as financial services, telecommunications, insurance, media, healthcare, retail and market research.

With the recent partnership, Sybase Products ME will now be in a position to enable companies within these sectors to ease the strain of traditional data management systems and introduce systems that will extract and analyze information from ever growing databases in real time.

'This provides them with the power and speed to make business intelligence work towards profitability,' he observed.

Commenting on its entry into the Middle East, Dennis Bartels, vice president EMEA Sales, Information Builders, said the growth potential within the Middle East and Turkey is enormous for the business intelligence sector.
