Nedjma general director Joseph Ged told a news conference his unit made a profit of $53 million in the year up to the end of the third quarter and was on course for its first profitable year since it entered the Algerian market.

He said Nedjma had 8.1 million subscribers, up from 5.8 million in the third quarter of 2009. Turnover in the same period was $160 million against $124 million last year, he said.-Reuters
