Dubai, December 29, 2010
Toshiba has launched EasyGuard, a concept which aims to provide the right security and maintenance for laptop users in the business and corporate world.
The four pillars of Toshiba EasyGuard include security, protection, connectivity and manageability.
“The EasyGuard concept attests our commitment to continuously develop products and technology that boasts of trustworthy performance and security features,” said Santosh Varghese, regional general manager, Computer Systems Division, Toshiba Gulf.
Selected models of Toshiba Satellite Pro, Tecra and Portégé laptops are equipped with a Fingerprint-Reader which allows Single Sign On, giving users fast and convenient authentication for all system passwords (BIOS, HDD and Windows). Only the registered owner can validate access to chosen documents and websites without the trouble of remembering multiple passwords. In addition, the Advanced Encryption feature protects the sensitive data using encryption and digital signature to ensure integrity and privacy.
Toshiba laptops also have the capacity to secure specific devices and ports to prevent illegal access and copying of confidential and private documents. Users are also relieved from threats on worms and viruses with the help of the Execute Disable Bit feature, which deactivate these before it can damage the operating system.
Toshiba EasyGuard provides features which prevent all the dangers of human or digital error. This includes protection against spilled water as well as accidental falls. Selected models come with Solid State Drives (SSD) that use solid-state memory for data storage. As there are no moving parts inside, even in extreme outdoor temperature, shock or vibration, users are guaranteed that the data are safeguarded.
The Hard Disk Drives (HDD) are likewise encased in rubber to protect it against shock and vibrations. To safeguard the laptop chassis, LCD and inverter, Toshiba designed the laptop with air-pocket cushioning and special padding to protect it from bumps and falls.
Spills can also be hazardous thus, Toshiba EasyGuard introduces spill-resistant keyboards which enable the user to close any files or shut down the laptop if there are accidental spills.-TradeArabia News Service
