DSO to showcase key offerings at HK expo

Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, is set to showcase its cutting-edge facilities and rapid growth as the region’s top integrated innovations hub for high-tech industries at the "International ICT Expo 2011" in Hong Kong.

The expo, considered a powerhouse for information and communications technology and links product and service providers with buyers, will run from April 13 to 16 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

In 2010, the event featured more than 570 exhibitors from 14 countries including group pavilions from Australia, Canada, China, India and Taiwan, said a DSO statement.

The trade fair attracted over 28,000 buyers from 136 countries, including professionals in the field of internet, intranet, computers, telecommunications, computer networks, multimedia technologies, wireless, wire line, entertainment and broadband, it added.

Adnan Juma Al Bahar, vice president of Marketing & Corporate Communications at DSO Authority said: "ICT Expo is considered as one of Asia’s unique platforms which we are confident it will help us in showing our competitive advantage to potential investors looking to setup their headquarters in this region."

"The expo will also help in creating and driving strategic alliances with international technology companies which will support the integrated tech-park’s growth," he noted.

“Besides helping attract new organisations to set up regional headquarters at DSO, the event will further open the doors for International companies operating in the field of technology to realize the solid value proposition and the benefits of operating in this region from within the region’s premier technology park,” Adnan added.

Moreover DSO extends investment incentives for hi-tech companies that comprise preferential leasing rates, subsidized EDA tools and staff accommodation, the statement said.

Wholly-owned by the Government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone for companies producing semiconductors, microelectronics, and other high-tech products seeking to establish regional headquarters and R&D centers in the Middle East and Africa.-TradeArabia News Service
