Microsoft names corporate VP for MEA

Microsoft has promoted Ali Faramawy to corporate vice president Microsoft Corporation and president – Microsoft Middle East & Africa MEA.
As corporate vice president, Ali Faramawy will continue to be responsible for Microsoft's operations in the MEA area. MEA is one of thirteen areas that comprise Microsoft's worldwide operations.
Microsoft MEA is comprised of 32 offices representing 79 countries across three continents. Faramawy has led the region for seven years and in that time has consistently proven his ability to drive impact at the highest levels and for long term growth in the region.
Ali Faramawy’s previous title was vice president Microsoft International and president – Microsoft Middle East & Africa.
“Ali’s inspirational leadership and commitment to Microsoft and the MEA region have won him the respect of colleagues, customers and partners,” said Jean-Philippe Courtois, president, Microsoft International.
“He has achieved impressive results by building deep partnerships with governments, businesses and communities across MEA. I am confident Ali will continue to serve as an outstanding ambassador for Microsoft, helping people and businesses realize their full potential,” he added.
