Batelco hosts education exhibition
Manama, January 5, 2012
Batelco Training Centre hosted an education exhibition at its staff centre recently to showcase the wide range of programmes available at some of Bahrain’s leading educational institutes.
Among the providers that participated were the University of Bahrain (UoB), Bahrain Polytechnic, Bahrain Training Institute (BTI), Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF) and Batelco Toastmasters Club, a statement from the telecommunications company said.
The purpose of the exhibition was to provide Batelco’s employees with the latest information on various academic programmes provided by educational institutes in the kingdom and enable them to get first hand information on development possibilities that suit their line of work.
Staff had the opportunity to meet with the providers to learn about the many programmes available such as MBA, BSc and Diplomas in various disciplines including management, leadership, financial, technical and languages, the statement said.
The company’s CEO Rashid Abdulla, general manager HR Suhaila Alnowakhda, and a number of its senior management attended the one day event.
Alnowakhda said that Batelco’s commitment to the training and development of its employees is ongoing with a big budget invested in providing opportunities at its Hamala training centre as well as in supporting staff to complete a range of external courses such as MBAs.
“The training centre liaises with well known external training institutes to meet the demand for programmes not available at Batelco,” she said.
“The training and development opportunities at Batelco aim to benefit our employees both personally and professionally, by providing them with the necessary knowledge to carry out their work roles in an efficient manner while supporting their career aspirations,” she added. – TradeArabia News Service
