Key electronic services to be reviewed

The ICT Knowledge Club (IKC) is holding a panel discussion entitled B2G and its Impact of Growth to focus on the plans of e-Government in developing electronic services aimed at the private sector.

The event, to be held on January 30 at 11am, at Beit Al Tijjar, comes in response to the demands of the ICT sector in the current Bahraini market as is related to co-operation between private and public sectors.

Speaking at the panel are Microsoft country manager for Bahrain and Oman Tariq Hijazai, Industry and Commerce Ministry assistant under-secretary for domestic trade Hameed Rahma, Batelco Bahrain chief executive Rashid Abdulla, Tamkeen chief executive Mahmood Kooheji and e-Government Authority chief executive Mohammed Al Qaed.

The panel discussion will focus on plans of e-Government in developing electronic services aimed at the private sector to increase the electronic financial and non-financial transactions between the private and the public sectors.

It will also look at obstacles faced by the private sector in accessing the e-services in the governments and the role of telecommunications in supporting the co-operation between the government and the public sectors in creating a communication platform as a base to embrace these services.

The recent progress in software development companies in the field to activate and accelerate the electronic handling of government and private sectors and the role of Tamkeen in providing training and technical and financial support will also be discussed.

Founded in 2010, IKC now has 20 corporate members that belong to the private and the public sectors.-TradeArabia News Service
