Batelco, NBB partner for eCommerce services
Manama, February 14, 2012
Batelco, the leading telecom service provider in Bahrain, has partnered with the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) to provide eCommerce and electronic payment services for eCommerce merchants.
The eCommerce payment gateway is an electronic payment processing service which allows merchants to accept payments for products and services sold online or through any electronic means, giving merchants the advantage of electronic reporting, automatic refunding and additional required benefits.
The strategic new partnership will establish NBB as a new eCommerce acquirer in Bahrain and also strengthen Batelco’s position as a technology leader being an eCommerce and ePayments services provider.
Currently, Batelco and NBB provide credit card ePayments processing as part of the partnership and have plans to further extend the payment portfolio to include processing of other cards to existing and new merchants.
Batelco general manager Enterprise Division Adel Daylami said: “The partnership between the two giant entities in the banking and telecom sector will benefit both organisations and strengthen the brand equity of both partners as it will provide an enhanced economical payment gateway for merchants.”
NBB general manager, Domestic Banking Group, AbdulAziz A Al Ahmed said: “NBB already offers its services through the largest network of branches and ATMs in the Kingdom. It has always been our constant endeavour to further enhance our services to make them more convenient for our valued customers and merchant partners.”
“We are very excited to extend our services to facilitate online payments, through our partnership with Batelco,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
