Zain to showcase FUN programme

Manama, June 25, 2012

Zain Bahrain announced that it will showcase its imaginative Future University Network (FUN) programme which combines real workplace experience and mentoring of fresh graduates at the upcoming ‘Bahrain Training and Education before Work’ exhibition.

The exhibition focuses on how graduates and jobseekers can be trained to gain and benefit from work experience before their first jobs and organisers believe that Zain’s commitment and creativity when it comes to contributing to Bahrain’s HR development will be a learning example for visitors and other participating organisations.

Dana Bukhammas, human resources manager, Zain Bahrain, said: “Zain Bahrain has always made HR development and training the cornerstone of its presence in Bahrain and we have time and again expressed the corporate view that our people are our most valuable assets.”

“At Zain, we believe that the best operations are those which are rooted in the community and we have a clear mandate to offer the best training, the best workplace and also give back to the community with a programme such as FUN which prepares young people for the future workplace and their role as stakeholders in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 development matrix.”

“Our much-praised FUN initiative has proved very successful in introducing real-life workplace dynamics, attitudes and opportunities to jobseeker graduates. The programme embeds young people within the Zain workplace and involves them in decision-making and in executing plans,” Mohammed Isa, FUN manager, Zain Bahrain, said. “It is far ahead of other internship programmes and has won praise and the backing of Tamkeen, which has incorporated it as part of their human capital development efforts to benefit 50 Bahrain University students this year.”

The Bahrain Training and Education before Work Exhibition will take place on June 27 and 28. It is being held in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor and Unido on June 27 and 28.

The exhibition is being organised by Medpoint Event Management and will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre. Participants include training institutes and universities and the focus will be on how to train or recruit bachelor degree holders and fresh students from secondary schools. – TradeArabia News Service
