Du to offer innovative M2M solutions

UAE's du has joined hands with SamTech, a key regional supplier of GPS-based intelligent wireless tracking systems, to offer innovative solutions to customers including connected fleet management and smart job management, Smart Transportation and Smart Waste Management, as part of its machine-to-machine (M2M) strategy.

Under this deal, du will provide end-to-end M2M solutions including data connectivity, SIM cards, devices and managed reporting, as a one-stop-shop to meet customers’ needs in this space.
 
Through this collaboration, du is expanding its bouquet of managed services to better serve the needs of its business customers, said a senior official.
 
“We are pleased to have joined forces with SamTech to extend the offerings in our managed services bouquet. We are confident that the addition of more M2M-focused solutions in our portfolio will be of great interest and benefit to our enterprise customers’ businesses,” remarked Hatem Bamatraf, the executive VP, Enterprise, du. 
 
M2M enables automated communication between remote machines, and centralized management of applications. It provides real-time monitoring and control without the need for human intervention, said Bamatraf.
 
M2M solutions are the fastest-growing offering in the telecom space, delivering innovations at a staggering pace and catalyzing the growth of the industrial internet, he explained.
 
According to him, du’s ever-growing stack of M2M offerings provides solutions for key verticals such as transport and logistics, energy and utilities, healthcare and retail. 
 
"The solutions are delivered through a managed services model, taking the company one step closer to realize its vision of offering industrial M2M solutions that are designed to meet and exceed customers’ business needs," he stated.
 
Samir Ibrahim Abdul Hadi, the president and CEO of SamTech said the du partnership has brought the company one step closer to its vision of being a sustainable service provider of wireless tracking, fleet and asset management solutions in the Middle East.
