Aruba-Aramex in ICT deal
Dubai, November 25, 2013
Aruba Networks International, a leading provider of next-generation network access solutions for the mobile enterprise, has signed a one-year deal to provide Aramex with its ICT technologies.
The partnership will see the leading provider of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions use Aruba’s secure WLAN technology, Network Access Control, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and Network Management System, said a statement.
The memorandum outlines the complete coverage of Aruba Networks wireless connectivity across all Aramex locations globally. This partnership will ensure wireless coverage is secured in Aramex offices and warehouses, enabling guest access to partners, suppliers and auditors and to provide constant and secure access to employees to use their own tablets and smartphones.
“Global companies are constantly searching for reliable wireless network access to support a broad variety of mobility requirements. Logistics management, guest services, and BYOD are just an example of the areas of collaboration between Aruba Networks and Aramex,” said Ammar Enaya, general manager of the Middle East at Aruba Networks.
In addition to its Wireless LAN, ClearPass and Airwave portfolios, the company will provide Aramex with Aruba Care and Partner Care support to improve technical assistance and reduce operational costs.
Samer Awajan, chief technology officer, Aramex, said: “In recent years, Aramex has branched out its e-commerce services to growth markets around the world and enhanced its infrastructure considerably. In order to support our innovative customer-focused growth strategies, it is critical to have reliable and secure connectivity.
“Previously, wireless was only used as an add–on, with no guest access or security policies. With Aruba Networks solutions, we will be able to use wireless connectivity 24/7 and keep enhancing our productivity and efficiency.”
Aruba will conduct knowledge transfer sessions on a regular basis to teach Aramex employees the latest wireless technologies. The full implementation will take place after a testing period by the global services team and the roll out and implementation will initially take place in the newest sites, followed by all other locations. - TradeArabia News Service
