Acer MEA names new vice president

Acer Middle East and Africa (MEA), the regional unit of leading PC manufacturer, announced that David Drummond, country manager for Southern Africa will take up the position of vice president, MEA effective immediately.
Drummond has a long standing relationship with the Acer brand after his success and rapid growth of the business as country manager Southern Africa 2003 - 2007, and has recently rejoined the company in the same role.
This announcement will see Drummond continue as country manager for Acer Southern Africa while taking on the roles and responsibilities of the new Acer Middle East and Africa vice president.
In addition to this announcement, a business restructuring has been formulated and completed by the Acer Middle East & Africa management team.
Acer is now looking to introduce more competitive products with existing PC, tablet and Smartphone business and to stabilize their market share within the region, a company statement said.
