Zain Bahrain on track to launch new network

Manama, December 6, 2013

Zain Bahrain has announced it has completed a key step paving the way for the launch of its new network by the first quarter of next year.

With the commissioning of the latest convergent database, which is a key element of the core network, Zain Bahrain has become one of the first operators in the region to have deployed this latest network element, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

"The $100 million network transformation, which began in April this year, is expected to give Zain Bahrain a new state-of-the-art network, turning the mobile operator into one of the most technically advanced in the world, and making available a whole new realm of exciting high-speed digital content capabilities to its customers," the company said.

"Zain Bahrain strives to offer the best services and is constantly investing in the improvement of its network coverage to provide seamless connectivity.

"The new network will play a key role in ensuring the best end-to-end customer experience in terms of accessibility, network coverage, services and customer care," the company added.

The launch is being done with the support of world-renowned technology solutions provider Ericsson. It will enable the operator to offer more advanced and flexible services to customers.

The network also promises super-fast download speeds, wider coverage and remarkably better experience for the growing smartphones, data and broadband subscribers.

The telecoms firm said as it enters the final stage of its network transformation programme, customers may face some service interruptions during the process. As on June 30, Zain Bahrain said its customer base in the country was 748,000, reflecting a 36 per cent year-on-year growth. – TradeArabia News Service
