Du official wins top ‘Women in Technology’ award

Dubai, January 21, 2014

Dubai-based telecom operator du said its executive vice-president of brand and communications was named the ‘Best All Round Technology Executive’ at the recently held inaugural Women in Technology MEA Awards in Dubai.

Hala Badri’s win was based on the award’s criteria for showing consistent, all-round performance in a technology-led business, driving sales, product development, market reach and strategic level feedback, said a statement.

"To be named the Best All Round Technology Executive in MEA is a sign of not only how far women have progressed in the industry, but of how nurturing du’s environment is to encourage success among its employees without discrimination. I would like to thank the judging panel for their consideration," said Badri.

An eight-member high profile jury panel selected seven winners for the following categories - the ‘Best All Round Technology Executive’; ‘Best Entry Level Technology Executive’; ‘Best Middle Level Technology Executive’; ‘Best Senior Level Technology Executive’; ‘Best Technology Business Start Up’; ‘Best Technology Enabler and Facilitator’; and ‘Best Technology Business Entrepreneur.’
