Software AG sets up big data response unit
Dubai, January 22, 2014
Software AG, a leader in business infrastructure software, has established an ‘Intelligent Business Operators’ (IBO) unit to enable organisations to rapidly respond to big data insights.
The technology produced by this unit will enable continuous 360-degree visibility into a running business, including monitoring the performance of business processes and identifying opportunities and risks, combined with the ability to act on these business trends immediately.
These IBO-powered solutions, which are already in use at blue chip customers, will offer benefits to organisations including revenue streams and reputation protection, seizing real-time revenue opportunities, cost control through optimal operational efficiency and real-time, continuous risk management.
John Bates, chief technology officer for IBO and Big Data, said: “Future business success will be based on the ability to detect opportunities in real-time and react to them while that opportunity still exists.”
“This will deliver benefits to provider and consumer alike, no matter what the industry, as operational bottlenecks are removed, costs fall and customer experiences are managed to the level of individualised services. Digital enabled business models are necessary for business success and survival.”
The unit brings together a number of leading products into a single in-memory platform, including the Terracotta Universal Messaging and Big Memory for communication, storage and analysis of in-memory big data, Apama for continuous analytics and intelligent actions to find and respond to opportunities and threats, and Process Performance Management (PPM) and optimise to track the historical and live performance of business processes against agreed service levels and Presto for visualisation and exploration of business patterns.
Stephen Geyer, regional sales director, said: “Next-generation business processes in the Middle East are looking beyond efficiency and affordability as they adjust to changing market trends and customer dynamics.
"The IBO platform enables organisations to integrate real-time intelligence with real-time analytics and decision management technologies for faster decision making, better customer service and risk avoidance to secure a competitive advantage.”
The company has also released several new product versions in the Middle East, including version 5.1 of its Apama platform, version 9.5 of Universal Messaging and version 4.1 of Terracotta BigMemory, to reflect the required integration of IBO products. - TradeArabia News Service
