Conference to analyse ICT industry growth

Manama, February 19, 2014

An innovation conference and national technology competition designed to encourage new ideas and discuss the growth and development of the ICT industry will be held at the InterContinental Regency Bahrain in June.

The e-Shabab contest and Innovtech innovation conference will take place over three days from June 24-26 featuring more than 20 international speakers and 300 participants, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

"E-Shabab, our fourth innovation competition, will once again provide a spectacular platform to bring together innovators and encourage and support their projects, as well as to provide them with a platform to share their ideas," said WorkSmart Events Management chief executive Ahmed Al Hujairy.

"Innovtech, on the other hand, is our second innovation technology conference and it promises to provide a remarkable platform for bringing together key industry players and companies to tackle and discuss critical issues facing the innovation and technology industry.

"It will also provide an opportunity for local, regional and international innovation and technology experts and organisations to network with each other through workshops, roundtable discussions and other specialised activities."

Founded in 2009, e-Shabab was originally conceived as an initiative to support Bahrain's youths and help them turn their ideas into reality.

Since its inception more than 1,000 youngsters have taken part with ideas ranging from an electric car charger to a Bahraini licence plate recognition system.-TradeArabia News Service
