Nawras quadruples 3G+ mobile services

Muscat, March 9, 2014

Omani telecom services operator Nawras has quadrupled its 3G+ mobile services with the launch of its fourth 3G+ data carrier for the first time in the Sultanate.

Nawras customers in Al Amerat, and Naseem Gardens were among the first ones to benefit from the online experience during the Muscat festival, said a statement.

This service is planned to cater to huge mobile traffic demands and ensure an excellent online experience, it said.

Nawras will extend this service alongside its countrywide turbo charging programme to ensure fast broadband and to boost the customer experience across those areas with high data traffic.

Wolfgang Wemhoff, chief technology officer, said: “Nawras would like to extend its gratitude to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) for their continued support and for allowing us to progress with our nationwide network modernisation programme. Enhanced communications is vital for the Sultanate’s development and we are committed to seeing this through.”

“The new data carrier was deployed during the Muscat Festival at the above mentioned three locations. We are now are able to manage high mobile traffic in those areas that need it most. We will continue to seamlessly and smoothly activate this service to provide Nawras customers with a fast broadband experience,” he added. - TradeArabia News Service
