4-pillar approach for telecom operators to boost growth

The South Asia, Middle East and North Africa (Samena) Telecommunication Council is set to highlight a four-pillar approach for telecom operators which can boost economic growth and sustainable development at a conference in Kuwait.
 
The Beyond Connectivity 2014 conference, under the theme ‘Fostering Economic Growth: Evolving Telcoms & ICT Landscape,’ will take place on March 16 and 17 at the Regency Hotel.
 
The conference will bring together the telecommunications industry's leading experts to take part in a number of panel discussions covering different topics which include tax reduction policies imposed on telecom operators, infrastructure sharing, pricing and fair competition, international roaming regulations, telecom licensing framework, diversification of revenue streams, strategies to overcome spectrum challenges, as well as regional perspective on net neutrality.
 
Bocar A BA, CEO of the council, said: “The upcoming conference aims at identifying innovative business strategies to facilitate growth through a series of panel discussions which will discuss the ways of collaboration among stakeholders and help identify new opportunities and strategies, solutions to tackle various challenges and, regulatory and policy amendments required to improve industry revenues.”
 
“As part of an industry that is so fast-paced and competitive, it is essential to lead and collaborate with other key players to pave way for initiatives that will drive continued innovation. It is imperative that we look at the bigger picture and take into consideration all the parameters and aspects related to the industry.
