Bahrain summit to shed light on latest ICT trends

Some of the world's leading experts will discuss the latest developments and trends in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at key forum to be held in Bahrain next month.
The Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2014 is being held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology (SCICT) chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, Hotel and Spa and the Bahrain International Circuit from April 21 to 23, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
Fiksu Kalasatama project manager Veera Mustonen will be one of the keynote speakers on 'Smart Cities'.
She has more than 10 years of experience in developing innovative human-centred concepts and services in large companies such as Nokia, Sanoma and Fujitsu.
CAT Technologies US vice-president of innovation and strategy for IT business management Robert Stroud will be the keynote speaker on 'Internet of Things'.
He is an expert in governance, security, risk-management and quality assurance.
UK creative technologist and entrepreneur Adrian McEwen will also speak on the same topic.
UK Ordnance Survey director general and chief executive Dr Vanessa Lawrence will discuss Great Britain's experience in areas of mapping, developing spatial information, training and various applications in surveying.
Social@Ogilvy Mena regional director Ema Linaker will address social media strategies which has resulted from her over 18 years' experience in communications, marketing and public relations.
Entreprise Gamification Consultancy Partner Yu-Kai Chou will speak on gamification techniques.
Gamification is the use of techniques and mechanisms of designing problem-solving games.
Tailor-made workshops will get underway on the first day of the forum.
The second and third day events will include parallel workshops, happening for the first time, properly made in conjunction with several international organisations and in coordination with NGOs plus specialised institutes.
The workshops will focus on IT governance, along with successful experiences in eGovernment across the globe, high-tech trends such as mobility concept, leadership in information technology, agile business analysis and improvements, optimal techniques to use social media, marketing tools, content industry, measurement and analysis, together with the Bahrain IT Expo 2014 - to be held on April 22 and 23 at the Bahrain International Circuit.-TradeArabia News Service
