Track24 unveils new security apps for workforce

Dubai, June 23, 2014

Track24, a leading provider of security tracking and location management technologies, has announced the launch of its new tracking application to secure the global workforce against unforeseen threats in today’s volatile world.

The new smartphone download - Smart24 - raises the awareness of flexible and affordable tools that can protect the rising number of dispersed personnel operating in high-risk zones, said the company in a statement.

Multinational companies are moving operations and personnel further afield to take advantage of the growing opportunities presented by the emerging markets. The smartphone app presents a new way for these organisations to drastically streamline their risk management capabilities and fulfil critical duty of care (DoC) obligations.

As the use of smartphones in business continues to rise across the Middle East and the wider world, Track24 is calling for organisations to embrace these new mobile technologies to manage the security of their entire workforce, said a senior official.

Marius Gilmore, the director at Track24 said: "During our 10 years’ of working in this market, we have seen first-hand the hazards, dispersed staff can face. We recently commissioned a piece of global research, due to be published in full later in the year, wherein executives working for multinational corporations in high-risk zones were asked to comment on how security concerns and measures impact their working lives."

"One of the most startling insights revealed that not only are employees often responsible for organising personal security procedures, many also seem to be building a tolerance of the high risks associated with working in these regions – which is even more surprising when one considers that over half of those interviewed have been directly involved in emergency incidents," pointed out Gilmore.

Growing opportunities across Africa, the Middle East and India mean existing operations are expanding into these territories and new businesses are emerging there. As a result, a growing number of expatriates and contract workers are relocating to unfamiliar environments where they risk facing serious threats including hostile political environments, terrorism, natural disasters and vehicle related accidents.

"These findings reveal that we need to raise awareness levels and demonstrate the significant role advanced mobile technologies, such as the Smart24 app, can play in managing the security of your staff," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
