Batelco hosts key IT security workshop

Bahrain’s leading telecom company Batelco held a three-day training programme covering the main concepts of Information Security Standard ISO27001:2013 Lead Auditor and ISO27001:2013 Transition Lead Implementer.
Batelco said the training was held to ensure its key employees have full understanding and knowledge to implement and assess the Information Security Standard within the workplace.
Batelco was presented with four ISO certificates in Information Security at the event.
The workshop was hailed a big success by participants from across the organisation who were involved in the unique professional three day programme.
With collaboration between the Company’s Information Security and the Training & Development Departments, Batelco organised the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) accredited workshop programme, in partnership with Continuity & Resilience (CORE) and their certification partner Intertek.
The workshop was attended by 19 participants who are involved in the implementation of information Security in various departments including Internal Audit, IT, Security & Safety, Wholesale, Retail Shops, Data Center, Networks, Business Continuity & Information Security.
Batelco Bahrain GM (Human Resources & Corporate Services) Suhaila Alnowakhda, congratulated the participants and complimented them on their great efforts.
"The programme provided an excellent opportunity for building a culture of security competence, motivating employees on incorporating information security best practices into their daily operations, and assuring the protection of customer information, which is considered one of Batelco’s top priorities," she stated.
By holding training workshops such as this, Batelco assures its customers that the Company applies global Information Security standards in implementing its daily transactions.
