Alcatel-Lucent to showcase innovations at Gitex

UAE, September 18, 2014

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise will demonstrate its growing success in the Middle East and commitment to technology innovation through its participation at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (Gitex) Technology Week 2014, Dubai, UAE, next month.

Under the theme “Connected Experience,” Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise will showcase its latest innovations in intelligent network infrastructure and communication solutions that enhance network performance and the user experience.

The benefit of converged networks, which combine voice, video, data and mobility applications on a single network, will lead the demonstrations at the event. The Unified Access solution comprises a rich set of secure BYOD services that enables employees and customers to use corporate or personal, wired or wireless devices on the enterprise network and simplifies the job for IT management of the network.

The company will also showcase new enhancements in unified communications and collaboration solutions including the award winning OpenTouch conversation for web, which helps users inside and outside the organisation join OpenTouch meetings from their laptop, tablet or smartphone and the Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Enterprise cloud suite of communication and collaboration services.

Addressing the vertical segments, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise will demonstrate its Guest BYOD Telephony solution designed for the hospitality industry.  Guests can use their own mobile devices to access hotel services, which includes controlling the in-room environment, adjust lighting and temperature, access hotel services, set a wake-up calls, set their do not disturb room status, and more.

For the education sector, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise will introduce the “Connected Bus”, which is a classroom on wheels aimed at helping deliver new, affordable learning experiences to students, teachers and bus drivers across the school transportation system.

Baher Ezzat, regional sales director, Middle East, said: “Many new devices, such as smartphones and next-generation IP phones, demand additional bandwidth and sometimes have power requirements that are above the limits of today’s networks. Coupled with employees demanding to connect their own devices to corporate networks, companies are faced with increasing mobility and security risks. At Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, we help our customers address today’s challenges by offering them the solutions they need to meet organisational demands while remaining productive.”

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise will be located at stand D 10, Zabeel Hall at the Gitex Technology Week 2014, which will be held from October 12 to 16, at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center. – TradeArabia News Service
