Cyber security issues to be probed at Bahrain summit

MANAMA, October 14, 2014

More than 200 delegates comprising security professionals, business leaders, government officials, and information security experts will gather in Bahrain next week to seek answers to global information security issues.

Under the patronage of Central Informatics Organisation director general of information systems Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Annual Cyber Security Summit is being held from October 20 to 22 at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

In its inaugural edition, the event will assemble a distinguished group of global technology leaders, captains of industry and information security professionals.

They will be sharing their views on how to tackle the 'ticking time-bomb' of rampant information security breaches and the devastating effects they have on businesses world over.

Over three days of deliberations, master classes and presentations, delegates will strive to emerge with a clear plan for tackling the global information security crisis.

The summit will include senior level representatives from multinationals such as Boeing International, Websense, IBM Canada, Oracle, Cyber Security Malaysia, McAfee, Intel, Narus, Adobe, BT Global Services and many more.

“The forum will challenge leaders to find real solutions to one of the most crucial issues of our times: Information Security,” Roshcomm chief executive M A Sridhar said.

“Through several initiatives that touch on the role of education and technological solutions that will make cyber defence more efficient, we will provide a platform to debate the issues and deliver a plan to effect real change,” he added.

The summit has been organised in partnership with Boeing International, Websense, and a host of other partners and sponsors.

The forum will also include senior level representatives from multinationals such IBM Canada, Oracle, Cyber Security Malaysia, McAfee, Intel, Narus, Adobe and BT Global Services.

Participants will also be able to participate in a Hackathon - a hacking challenge game - to see first-hand how the concepts they had debated are being applied. - TradeArabia News Service
