Du offers chance to win special mobile number

DUBAI, April 16, 2015

Du, a UAE-based telecom service provider, will offer one lucky participant the chance to be the only person in the UAE with an exclusive mobile phone number (0522222222) at an upcoming special numbers auction.

The Special Numbers with Exclusive Packages Auction will be held on April 25 at the InterContinental Festival City.

A total of 70 unique special numbers with exclusive packages will be auctioned in various categories, and the highest bidders will be awarded a certificate of allocation for the chosen number for the first time in the UAE, in accordance with TRA’s regulations.

“Innovation is one of our core business values. In an effort to add value to customers’ lives, and to benefit the community, we have released exclusive numbers for our first ever Special Number with Exclusive Packages Auction. This reinforces our responsibility as a corporate citizen to a number of social causes that we support, as well as our continued commitment to providing the best experience for our customers,” said Ahmed Aburahima, executive vice president, Government Relations, du.

A part of the auction proceeds will benefit the participants of two weekly programmes on charitable causes, Alam wa Amal on Sharjah TV and Emarat El Kheir on Noor Dubai Radio Channel.

Dr Khalid Omar Al Midfa, director general of Sharjah Media Incorporated, said: “Alam wa Amal, the program on Sharjah TV and Radio, connects hapless, needy patients with generous individuals and corporate donors who help provide them with vital medical care.

“Our TV programme has gained a great reputation over the years and received government recognition and several awards. We are excited to be the benefactors of du Special Number with Exclusive Packages Auction. This is a new highlight in the programme’s success and reaffirms du’s staunch commitment to social responsibility, which will help so many of our patients.”

Mohsen Mohammed, general manager of Noor Dubai Radio Channel, said: “Our aim is to create a platform that enables leading organisations in the UAE to strengthen their charitable efforts, through the Abwab El Kheir programme.

“We are constantly expanding our initiatives to include the largest possible segment of society. While we have achieved great success in the past, this year we are pleased to cooperate with the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities to achieve our goals. Our partnership with du will benefit the customers by attracting considerable attention to our endeavours at a local level.”

There will be various categories open for bidding, and the highest bidders of each exclusive package number will receive benefits valid for 24 months, and will be awarded the special number. – TradeArabia News Service
