Avanza Solutions to showcase Proximate app

DUBAI, May 29, 2016

UAE-based Avanza Solutions, a leading software solutions provider, will showcase Proximate, a location-aware mobile marketing application aimed at retailers, at the Cards & Payments Middle East on May 31 and June 1, in Dubai, UAE.

The new technology solution enables retailers to enhance their consumer engagement via Proximate’s cost effective iBeacons placed at outlets interacting with the mobile marketing application, said a statement from the company.

This will be the first time the platform will be showcased at a trade event, it said.

With the number of smartphones in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) totalling around 106 million in 2015 and set to reach 174 million by 2019, smart mobile devices remain a major channel for retailers to connect with consumers. Building on this opportunity, Proximate gives retailers the possibility to directly engage with their customers through their smartphones. It also enhances the user experience by providing consumers the ability to receive offers and information on their preferred brands when near them, which they can select through their application, it added.

The platform is location-aware, so users of the application are engaged when they are near to a retailer that is subscribed to the service. Users decide what type of products they are interested in, and then the application does the rest. iBeacons at the store communicate with the application via bluetooth and the user receives a notification of the on-going promotion that matches their set preferences. Leading consumers to get their preferred deals shown to them when they are nearby and the ‘wayfinder’ feature built into the application also guides them to their potential purchase, said the statement.

Major benefits for the retailer include increased footfall at their premises, as well as being able to measure on site consumer engagement to help them deliver a better, more relevant experience. These insights can be used to extract information like which sections consumers visit more, how long do they stay there, which sections are more profitable, and what marketing campaigns are the most effective, it added.

In addition to retail sectors, banking and financial institutions can use this platform to set up a more personal relationship with their clients with meet and greet options and other in-premises engagements to create an improved customer experience, it stated.
